                        My North Indian friends used to ask me about idly batter preparation.Yesterday my neighbor asked me the same question.So I decided to post it.Every week I have to prepare idly and tomato chutney for my Kannan.

Ingredients:

Raw rice:2 cup
Boiled rice :1 cup
Or
Idly rice :3 cup
Urad dal: 1 cup
Fenugreek seeds:1/4tspn
Cooked rice:1/4 cup
Salt
Water

                      I got this recipe from a cookery show. First time I couldn’t make it perfect because I forgot to keep my stove in low flame while frying the milk powder. Second time barfi came just like bubble gum. This time it came okey.So I think the consistency is important.Easy to prepare but need full concentration.

Ingredients:

Milk powder:1 cup(I used Every day)
Sugar:1 cup
Ghee:1/2 cup
Water:1/2 cup

                                          Even diabetic persons can take beetroot.sugar present in it is fat free and has a medium glycemic index.I used to prepare beetroot thoran(stir fry)juice ,Pachadi ,koottu etc..But I think Halwa is more delicious than any other recipe.

I can’t say NO to any beef dishes. Whenever booking ticket to Kerala my hubby used to say that, aah.., after reaching home first I will go to “thattukada”(a small road side shop providing tasty porotta and beef fry).Then I will give a short lecture about health but secretly love his statement. Because I know sure, he will bring a parcel for me. Still I’m not good in making soft Kerala porotta. My hubby used to say that your porotta is not like what we are getting from “thattukada”, but your beef fry is same as “thattukada” style ! .Here I’m sharing the same recipe with you.
                       My mom in law is a beef roast specialist.Her beef roast!!!!!!!!Ohh drooling!!!!!Sure I will post that recipe too.

    It is a traditional and simple kerala style recipe.It is one of the cheapest fish available in kerala but are rich in vitamine D, and proteins.It is a good source of Omega 3 fatty acid which lowers bad cholestrol LDL.

                                It is a delicious dish and I have no words to explain! I got this recipe from my sister in law Seesa shabu.I tried it long back and got super comments. Now I’m sharing the same recipe with you. Here I used Vatta(trevally fish) fish but you can replace it with any fish. It is a good side dish for rice and boiled tapioca (kappa puzhungiyathu)

                                      Again a cake recipe.I had no confidence to do any experiments in baking. But my friend, food blogger Tinku Shaji(Daily chores recorded) encouraged me a lot..she is the person behind this blog as well as my confidence.This is my first experiment with dates but came superb. Dates are rich in minerals vitamins and dietary fiber. It is an excellent source of iron too. Hope you all will try it.

Unsweetened cocoa powder:3/4 cup

  • Maida:1 cup
  • Unsweetened cocoa powder: 3/4 cup
  • Powdered sugar: 1 cup
  • Butter: 3/4 cup(i used Amul salted butter)
  • Egg: 2 
  • milk: 1 table spoon
  • baking soda: 1/4 spoon
  • Vanilla essence: 1/4 spoon

For icing


  • Butter:100gm(I used un salted butter)
  • Cocoa powder:4teaspoon
  • powdered sugar:6teaspoon
  • Milk:3 teaspoon

 It is my Hubby's favourite dish .So i tried different methods and collected recipes from net,friends and even from collegues.But I couldnt make a perfect restaurent style Biriyani.After doing lots of experiments I finalized this recipe for that i got super compliments from my hubby and also from others.I can promise you if you are trying this recipe result will be colourful.Hope you will like it

                     When my Mom in law prepares moru curry I finish it of within seconds with plain rice.Though my Mom and sister in law prepares delicious delicious moru curries I prefer my MIl's curry.May be because of the "manchatty"(clay pot) she used to prepare  this dish.Here I'm sharing with you the recipe for moru curry-my mom in law's style!
