Chana masala/Chole masala

A delicious side dish for roti nan and bhature.This is the best combo for Bhature .Chole bhature!!!!!!



Chana masala/Chole masala

Ingredients:

  • White chana : 200gm
  • Onion sliced : 2 big
  • Tomato chopped : 2 big
  • Cumin seeds / jeerakam : 1/2 tspn
  • Ginger : 1"piece
  • Garlic : 10 cloves
  • Coriander powder : 1 tblspn
  • Chilly powder : 1 tspn
  • Turmeric powder : 1/4 tspn
  • Garam masala powder : 1.5 tspn
  • Coriander leaves chopped : 2 tblspn
  • Salt
  • Oil

Method:

  • Soak chana over night wash it and drain.Keep aside
  • Grind ginger and garlic together to make a paste .Keep aside.
  • Heat a pan / pressure cooker with oil.Add cumin seeds and let it splutter.Now add sliced onion and saute it well till it turn golden brown
  • Now add tomato and saute it well till it turn soft

  • .Add ginger garlic paste and saute it well..Add coriander powder chilly powder turmeric and garam masala powder and salt.Mix it well
  • Now transfer the whole sauted masala to a cooker and add enough water(around 1.5 cups of water)

  • Cook it in low flame for 3 whistle.When the pressure subsides open the cooker and add chopped coriander leaves.(I forgot to add )
