Meen polichathu usually preparing in banana leaf.This recipe is from my mom in law . she used to prepare it in little gravy without banana leaf .
An easy peasy method to prepare tasty fish curry.Addition of coconut milk will give a special flavor and taste to the curry.Already I have posted the typical method with sardines (mathi).
Ingredients :
- Fish : 1/2 kg ( I used mackerel / Ayala)
- Onion chopped : 1
- Tomato chopped : 1
- Fish tamarind : 2 piece
- Garlic : 5
- Fenugreek seeds / uluva : 1/4 tspn
- Ginger chopped : 1 small piece
- Onion chopped : 1 small
- Tomato chopped : 1
- Turmeric powder : 1/4 tspn
- Chilly powder : 1 tblspn
- Coriander powder : 1 tspn
- Thick coconut milk : 1 cup
- Curry leaves : 2 spring
- Salt
- Oil
Method :
- Now add turmeric powder,chilly powder and coriander powder too.
- Mix it well.Add soaked fish tamarind
- Add coconut milk and 1/2 cup of water.
- Check for salt and cover the clay pot with its lid.
- Cook it in medium flame.
- Yummy meen pollichathu is ready to serve!
Note :
- If you don,t prefer gravy don't add water and make it dry then transfer it in to banana leaf
